Well everyone, I guess it's back into that old routine. I've no idea what to write, has anyone got any ideas/suggestions/general musings? Hope you're all ok. Stay Strong x x x
Hmm, okay. Do you think the person who came up with the idea of putting an eraser on the end of a pencil made a fortune from it, or do you think they forgot to miss a trick and never patented the idea?
i think they made a fortune from it. its a useful little thing, the pencil with eraser. even more useful when it comes in a pack with other useful pencils with erasers! :D
Well, did the guy who thought of it increase the price when he started selling them with rubbers on the end, or does he get royalties from companies that use the idea? The family of the guy who discovered the Heimlich manouever (I believe his name was Heimlich) patented the term so that they could make money from those that taught it. People changed the name to abdominal thrust or something. I'm not saying that a good idea intrinsically deserves cash, but people often try to do so anyway.
I know Keir, I agree with you, and its funny that the Heimlich folk go ttheir cummupance by destroying what could have been an honourable title. Not sure who you were saying not really to Dave, but all I was saying is that there are many people who will seek to exploit anything for money...
I'm Nikita and I'm whatever you want me to be. I am a bipolar nothing. A student with no course. I am a writer and a critic. I'm a southerner who strayed north. I read with closed eyes. I take anti-psychotics and mood stabilisers and anti-depressants. My arms are littered with scars. I'm a dreamer who woke up. I am in love.
aloha x

you assume that good ideas = cash, which is certainly not true

The idea of exploiting a good idea for money is sickening, if you have an idea that can help your fellow human beings you should give it freely
not really
